About Us
Amazing Small Things is a small independent business based in Plymouth, South West England.
We started our business in 2021 with a simple idea: to provide accurately cut shapes and craft blanks that our customers could use to bring their own creative projects to life.
Our first range consisted mainly of basic geometric shapes. As the business grew, we quickly discovered just how many different shapes, sizes and materials our customers were looking for.
Since then, our range has continued to grow. Today, we offer a wide selection of shapes, craft blanks, sheets and other products made from birch plywood, MDF and basswood.
Small Pieces. Big Ideas.
This simple phrase captures what Amazing Small Things is all about.
Our shapes, blanks and other laser-cut products are designed and produced by us in Plymouth using professional CO₂ laser equipment.
We do not buy ready-made shapes for resale. We control the process ourselves – from design and material preparation through laser cutting to the finished product.
Producing our products ourselves allows us to control dimensions, quality and consistency, while offering a wide variety of shapes and sizes and giving us the flexibility to manufacture products to individual customer specifications.
We also offer sheets of birch plywood, MDF and basswood suitable for laser cutting, crafts, model making and many other creative applications.
From an Idea to Something Real
One of our customers once told us:
“You bring the ideas I have in my head to life.”
That comment stayed with us because it describes an important part of what we want Amazing Small Things to be about.
Sometimes a customer knows exactly what they need – they already have the dimensions, shape or design in mind.
Sometimes they simply have an idea and need some help turning it into something real.
Because we design and manufacture our laser-cut products ourselves, we can often produce a shape, size or variation that is not yet part of our standard range.
Many products that are now available in our shop started with a customer simply asking:
“Can you make this?”
Quite often, the answer is:
“Yes.”
Ready for Your Next Project
We know that a laser-cut shape or craft blank is usually only the beginning of a project.
Our products can be used for a wide variety of creative applications, including painting, decorating, decoupage, signs and plaques, ornaments, model making, seasonal decorations and many other craft and DIY projects.
After laser cutting, our products are finished where appropriate to remove loose residue and excessive surface marking created during the cutting process.
Because laser cutting uses heat, laser-cut edges may naturally have a darker brown appearance, particularly with plywood. This is a normal characteristic of the laser-cutting process rather than a defect.
Our aim is to prepare our products so that you can move as quickly as possible to the most important part – your project.
Standard Sizes and Custom Orders
Alongside our standard range, we can also produce many products to custom dimensions or individual specifications.
If you need a different size, a particular shape, your own design or a larger quantity for a project or business, get in touch and tell us what you need.
Because we manufacture our products ourselves, we can often produce sizes or variations that are not available as standard products in our shop.

A Small Business That Keeps Growing
Amazing Small Things has grown considerably since those first simple geometric shapes in 2021, but we remain a small independent business.
We are constantly looking for new ideas, improving existing products and expanding our range.
Customer feedback, projects and requests play an important part in that development. They help us better understand what people using our products actually need and inspire us to create things we might never have thought of ourselves.
Small Pieces. Big Ideas.
Because sometimes it all starts with a small piece of wood – and an idea someone has in their head.
